The following topic areas are covered through oral, listening and written communication: · Youth Culture and Concerns · Lifestyle, Health and Fitness · The World Around Us: travel, tourism, environmental issues and the target-language speaking world · Education and Employment · Customs, Traditions, Beliefs and Religions · National and International Events: past, present and future · Literature and the Arts During the course, students will be expected to attend regular oral lessons with the Foreign Language Assistant and participate in the departmental programme of visits and exchanges. You will be encouraged to read the French newspaper magazine 'Phosphore' so that you can develop your understanding of French current affairs. You will have the opportunity to explore French culture for instance watching French films and researching current issues on the internet using our laptops.
- It is highly recommended that you have Level 6 or above in GCSE French. - At least 6 GCSE subjects at Grade 6 or above. - At least a Grade 5 in English. - At least a Grade 5 in Mathematics.
