Welcome to Highworth Grammar School

Highworth values Sixth Form students and recognises the vital role they play in the life of the school. We also recognise how important it is for individual talents and needs to be met so that students prosper and flourish in an intellectually challenging yet supportive environment. As Ofsted note, this allows our students to ‘make rapid and sustained progress’. We aim to encourage students to develop a personal and independent approach to learning that will enrich their lives, whether they choose to go on to Higher Education or to find employment. Highworth Sixth Form is a great place to be. Students thrive academically and enjoy the day-to-day challenges and opportunities the school offers. We hope that you are inspired to choose Highworth for your post-16 education and look forward to welcoming you to what we are confident will be the most exhilarating period of school life.Mr D House, Head of Sixth Form

Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
Compulsory Supplementary Study in Year 12 and Year 13 encourages students to develop good study habits. In addition, a programme of Co-curricular activities and Personal Development provides students with the opportunity to acquire broader life skills

Model United Nations
Model United Nations (MUN) is a form of debating that asks you to find creative solutions to the world's biggest problems. You are tasked with playing the role of an ambassador to the United Nations, negotiating with other ambassadors and trying to get their country's voice heard on the international stage
Mock Bar
tep into the shoes of a barrister, witness, or court official and experience the drama of the courtroom in this nationally recognised competition. The Mock Bar Trial gives you the chance to prepare real legal cases, develop arguments, question witnesses, and present in front of a judge in a real court setting.
Technical Theatre
The Technical Theatre Team provides lighting, sound and stage management support for all school shows and events. It is a great opportunity for students to learn new skills with the support of our Performance Technician, Mr Nye.
Student Equality
Here at Highworth, we believe all people are of equal value and therefore we seek to actively promote equality of opportunity and inclusivity. The Student Equality Team seeks to promote good relations and positive attitudes between students, forging community cohesion. The Afro-Caribbean Society, Asian Society, All Abilities Group, Feminist Society and Pride Society are part of a wider Student Equality Team who will be actively involved in promoting their respective societies, raising awareness, hosting competitions and fundraising for worthy causes
Studying Abroad
Whether you are interested in studying abroad as part of your degree or completing your whole degree overseas, Highworth's International Programmes can help you. Watch out for our monthly programme of events.
