Course summary

Over the course of two years, you will achieve a Level 3 Science vocational qualification which will help to prepare you for the scientific workplace or higher education. Year 1: • Unit 1 covers the core principles across the three science disciplines. • Unit 2 focuses on practical procedures and techniques. This unit introduces you to standard laboratory equipment and techniques, including titration, colorimetry, calorimetry, chromatography, calibration procedures, and laboratory safety. Year 2: • Unit 3 focuses on science investigation skills across the three science disciplines. You will plan investigations and analyse and evaluate the data you have collected. • You will also complete an optional unit. You will be able to choose from 2 biology, chemistry, or physics units. Mathematical skills and concepts run throughout many of the units.
