Course summary

Biology is the study of life and what could be more interesting than that? If you want to find out more about what makes us ‘tick’ and how life goes on and on, with or without the influence of mankind, then this is the subject for you. Biology is a challenging but very rewarding subject and can open doors to a wide range of career opportunities. The future of the subject is only limited by our imagination; the influence of Biology on modern life is always increasing and the demand for good Biologists in the future will be high. In Year 12 you will study the following modules: Module 1: Development of practical skills Module 2: Foundations in biology Module 3: Exchange and transport Module 4: Biodiversity, evolution and disease. In Year 13 you will study the following modules: Module 5: Communications, homeostasis and energy Module 6: Genetics, evolution and ecosystems.
