Course summary
“There are 3 keys to success: First, work out what you want to achieve; second, work out the price associated with that achievement; third, pay the price. Most people only get 2 out of 3.” You will develop your knowledge and understanding of the physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and historical factors that influence participation and quality of performance. Sport and Physical Activity is an interesting, academic, and multidimensional course that crosses the art/science divide. During Year 12, you will be required to study three units: Unit 1 – Body systems and the effects of physical activity Unit 2 – Sports coaching and activity leadership Unit 3 – Sports organization and development. The focus in Year 13 builds on the previous year’s content whilst also looking at sport and exercise psychology and biomechanics.
