Course summary
This course forms the basis for study of a Biological Science at university level and it is very useful to study this course in combination with Chemistry, Psychology or Geography In Year 12 all students will study Units 1, 2, 3 and 4 Unit 1: Biological Molecules Unit 2: Cells and Cell Structure Unit 3: Exchange Surfaces Unit 4: Genetic Information In Year 13 all students will study units 5, 6, 7, and 8.Unit 5: Energy Transfers Unit 6: Homeostasis and Nervous Control Unit 7: genetics, Populations and Evolution. Unit 8: Applications of Genetic Principles Practical work is still an integral part of the Biology course. It is assessed as a practical skills notebook which is kept to record experiments done during the course and as practical based questions on the theory papers.
