Design and Technology (Product Design)

Course summary

Students will complete practice coursework to raise the standard from GCSE to A level and both areas will study the theory side of the subject that will be examined at the end of the 2 year course. Students will also undertake a major assessed piece of coursework that will be carried out through year 13 and will count as 50% of their A level. This time students in both subject areas are expected to come up with their own brief. The final piece of assessment will be 2 exam papers testing designing and making principles and technical principles. The other 50% of the A level.
