Assessment

Component 1: This is a practical investigation supported by written material. Students are required to conduct a personal investigation, into an idea, issue, concept or theme of their choosing, supported by an essay of 1500-3000 words. Component one makes up 60% of the course. Component 2: For the externally set assignment students will be given a theme set by the exam board. Through research and practical experimentation, students will develop a body of work that explores this theme. Students will be given eight weeks of preparatory time and 15 hours of exam time to create final outcomes. Component two makes up 40% of the course.
