Art and Design (Fine Art)

Course summary

Students will be expected to keep sketch books which may include samples, experimentation and drawings. Although the course is based on practical work they may sometimes be given written homework. They will need time at home to continue class work. Students will also be expected to develop work in a more independent manner. This will include making self-initiated visits to galleries and exhibitions, getting involved in art department extra-curricular activities (supporting the ARTiculate competition, residential trips, RA summer show, life drawing etc.) and taking a generally active interest in art.
