Course summary

Geography is one of the most exciting and relevant subjects you can study in today's world. As a subject in its own right it can open many further education and career opportunities and Geography is highly regarded in a group of A level subjects for a wide variety of degrees as it is a facilitating subject. Geography has the advantage of being the bridging subject between the "arts" and the "sciences". This can be of great benefit to those students who do not wish to become too specialised in the Sixth Form as it teaches core skills for all career and university pathways. Candidates will study core human and physical geography. In each area of study candidates will consider the values and attitudes of decision makers, consider their own values and attitudes to the issues being studied and support their learning of ideas through the study of specific case studies. Candidates will also develop a variety of geographical skills, which will broaden and deepen existing knowledge and be employed with a greater degree of independence.
