The P.E. A-Level course both builds upon the units that the students studied at GCSE and introduces entirely new topics. It is a fantastic basis for moving into work in the Sports Industry or further education. Over the two years you will study: applied anatomy and physiology, skill acquisition, sport and society, exercise physiology, biomechanics, sport psychology and technology in sport. This is an academically demanding course, with a heavy focus on Biology. Competence in Science is therefore very important. The exams as assessed through a mixture of multiple choice, short answer and extended answer questions, so literacy skills are key. Students are also assessed as a performer or coach in the full sided version of one activity.
