Course summary

This is an exciting course aimed at students who are interested in how our world works! You will be debating the power of the President in US politics, investigating why Americans are allowed to have guns and deciding how “free” people should be. You will study the impact of the government in the UK on our lives, how the British system works and how decisions made in parliament are interpreted by the courts. You will explore different political ideas, from liberalism to socialism as well as specific issues such as the environment and gender equality. If you are interested in whether referendums are the best way to make decisions or whether political parties should be doing more for the environment, then this could be the course for you.
