I was in the class of 2018 but began at Alsager School in 2016 in Year 9.
I attended Newcastle College in 2018 to do Early Years but I decided it wasn’t for me, I hated being in a big place so decided to go to Juniper Training in Hanley where it was a lot smaller and quieter for me.
During the Covid pandemic, I was working as a part time nursery nurse. However, I got very unsure on what I wanted to do but I wanted to be a care assistant, so I started working in care. I then decided I wanted to go to college back in 2020 to do health and social care and I came out of college with distinction star distinction star.
I am now a full-time care assistant working in a nursing home looking after residents who have life limited conditions and illnesses such as dementia and Alzheimer’s. I also have a qualification in end-of-life care. I am aiming to becoming Care Manager one day.
All this whilst being engaged and in my own house. Success comes in a variety of ways and no matter where life leads you, be proud of how far you have come. They say you have to chase your dreams not let your dreams chase you; and it’s true.
Ellie Whitehall
September 2021
University
Congratulations to Ellie Whitehall on graduating from the University of Birmingham with a first-class honours degree in Physics.
During her time in Alsager Sixth Form, Ellie had major spinal surgery and had half a term off school to recover, but that did not deter her commitment to her studies; leaving Alsager School with 3 A* in her A-levels!
Her parents are rightly proud: “Thank you to all who helped Ellie on her school journey to enable her to achieve so well at university”
