Course summary

Unit 1: Information Systems (Externally Assessed) Learners study the role of computer systems and the implications of their use in personal and professional situations. Unit 2: Creating Systems to Manage Information (Externally Assessed) Unit 1: Information Systems (Externally Assessed) - Learners study the role of computer systems and the implications of their use in personal and professional situations. Unit 2: Creating Systems to Manage Information (Externally Assessed) - Learners study the design, creation, testing and evaluation of a relational database system to manage information. Unit 3: Using Social Media in Business (Internally Assessed) - Learners explore how businesses use social media to promote their products and services. Learners also implement social media activities in a business to meet requirements. Unit 6: Website Development (Internally Assessed) - Learners investigate website development principles and they design and develop a website using scripting languages.

Entry requirements

Students require 5 GCSEs at 9-5 including English, Maths and Science. GCSE Computer Science Grade 4 and above for Computing and GCSE ICT Grade 4 and above for Information Technology.
