If you want to learn how to record, produce and mix music, this contemporary A Level will help you achieve a foundation towards university and entry into the music industry. Using platforms such as Logic Pro & Reason, you will learn to record and mix bands as well as composing music for the digital age. The course combines theoretical and practical aspects and features guest speakers and industry trips, as well as developing your own portfolio. A Level Music Technology is the ideal course for you if you enjoy making and recording music. You will study producing, styles, composing for the digital age and sound engineering, making use of our professional-standard equipment.In Year 1 you will look at Foundation Skills in Recording/Programming & Portfolio Preparation and in Year 2 you will move onto Advanced Skills in Recording/ Programming. There are three main areas of study for this A Level Music Technology course, encouraging both breadth and depth of knowledge and understanding:– Recording and Production Techniques for both corrective and creative purpose– Principles of Sound and Audio Technology – The Development of Recording and Production– Units studied on this course:– Recording– Technology-Based Composition.
