Course summary
For you if you’re interested in people and the reasons behind their behaviours. Units include: • social, cognitive, learning and biological explanations of behaviours • methods used to investigate human behaviours • mental health and addiction • analysing bigger themes such as nature versus nurture Psychology offers an academic approach, looking at the research of psychologists and offering the chance to conduct your own studies. You will develop transferable skills such as strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to use evidence and logic to construct an effective argument. Volunteering or a work experience placement is a positive addition to your CV. You could also undertake an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) which allows you to pursue your own research topic.
