CTEC EXTENDED DIPLOMA (3 A LEVEL EQUIVALENT) This course includes the Extended Certificate and Diploma units plus: UNIT 6: GROUP EXERCISE TO MUSIC Students will be introduced to the different types of group exercises to music. Planning group exercise sessions considering the needs of participants. UNIT 7: IMPROVING FITNESS FOR SPORT Students will explore the various components of fitness and the methods of training used to enhance these. You will plan and deliver fitness training programmes to meet the needs of individuals. UNIT 12: NUTRITION AND DIET FOR SPORT & EXERCISE Students will gain an understanding of what is meant by the term ‘balanced diet’, the relationship between energy intake and energy expenditure and how this changes depending on the sport or physical activity taking place. UNIT 14: WORKING IN ACTIVE LEISURE Students will explore the day-to-day running duties that are carried out within an active leisure environment, ensuring that it is fit for purpose UNIT 17: SPORTS INJURIES AND REHABILITATION Students will explore how to recognise and treat common sports injuries both immediately and through rehabilitation programmes. Unit 18: Practical Skills in Sport and Physical Activity Students will undertake a variety of sporting activities, gaining an understanding of the practical skills needed to be successful. UNIT 21: THE BUSINESS OF SPORT Students will learn about the structure and purpose of different sports businesses, who their customers are and how they use staff and volunteers to run their organisation and meet their goals. HOW THE COURSE IS DELIVERED The course is delivered through a series of theoretical and practical lessons. The Extended Certificate course will see you undertake 4 lessons per week and the Extended Diploma course will be conducted via 12 lessons per week.
