Assessment

Three two-hour written exams at the end of the second year. Each exam consists of multiple-choice, short-answer, and essay-style questions. Each exam is worth 33% of the A Level. Research methods and maths skills are assessed in every paper. Paper 1 – Introductory topics in psychology (social influence, memory, attachment, and psychopathology). Paper 2 – Psychology in context (approaches, biopsychology, research methods). Paper 3 – Issues and options in psychology (issues and debates, relationships, schizophrenia, and forensic psychology).
