English Language and Literature

Course summary

The A Level version of this course involves the study of linguistics and English literature. Students will learn how to analyse a range of English language texts; they will produce their own creative and evaluative writing in response to set briefs. This course involves the study of linguistics and English literature. Students will learn how to analyse a range of English language texts: spoken language texts, non-fiction texts, plays, poetry and prose. Students will also learn how to produce their own creative writing from a stimulus and write an evaluative commentary about the process.
