Course summary

The two-year A Level course is comprised of three elements assessed over two written exams and one independent coursework project: Aspects of Tragedy; Elements of Crime Writing or Elements of Political Writing and Theory and Independence. This course involves studying a range of heritage and contemporary texts from the English literary canon, including poetry, prose and plays. Students will learn how to form a debate about their reading in a concise manner, blending their understanding of authorial methods, contextual factors and genres. Two genres are studied: tragedy and crime.
