This course is designed to develop students’ knowledge and understanding of how different factors combine to influence performance in sport and physical activities.
Students who have not achieved Grade 4 in English and Maths join the resit group which is taught on Wednesday afternoons as a part of the Curriculum Enrichment Programme. Resits are offered in both the November and Summer examination sessions. Students who wish to improve their English or Maths GCSE grades can also join the resit group. Upper grade 5 or above in GCSE physical education in addition to a grade 5-6 or above in GCSE combined science, or upper grade 5 or above in biology. Other interested students will be considered on merit. Proven commitment towards and an active engagement in sport and PE, with particular strength in the theory element of the course.
Paper 1: Written exam: 2 hours 105 marks 35% of final A level mark Paper 2: Written exam: 2 hours 105 marks 35% of final A level mark Non‐exam assessment 90 marks 30% of final A level mark
