Assessment
Learners will be supported in taking ownership of their learning and development through setting development goals and agreeing an individual development plan. Through a combination of classroom learning, practical skills development, assignments and a work experience placement, learners will gain the knowledge and skills required to work in the animal care industry. Learners will sit an externally set and marked exam covering core areas, a synoptic assignment to assess practical skills and applied knowledge and a suitable work experience placement. Learners may be required to produce a portfolio of evidence to be presented for assessment at the end of the programme. Learners will be required to complete a total of 30 hours of work experience.
