Chemistry is a highly practical subject which will give you an insight into many chemical concepts. You will learn about chemistry in a range of different contexts, including the role it plays within the industry and numerous aspects of everyday life. This course will challenge you to bring together your scientific and mathematical skills from the GCSE level and apply them to new concepts.
• The minimum entry criteria for our Level 3 Pathways is at least 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or equivalent • A-Level Pathway must include mathematics or English • Science Grade 6, Mathematics Grade 6
New A-Levels will be fully linear so assessment of knowledge and understanding of the whole course takes place at the end of two years of study. There will be a total of three exams and a series of 12 practical groups that must be covered and evidenced in your laboratory books to gain the practical endorsement that sits alongside the A-Level. The practical endorsement for chemistry is a teacher-assessed pass/fail component and performance is reported separately to the A-level grade.
