Course summary

This qualification is aimed at students who are interested in a career in IT, however, due to the flexible nature of the qualification the knowledge and experience that students gain will support them with their other subjects in addition to preparing them for further studies or employment. Students develop their IT knowledge and understanding by applying the skills they learn to business-related contexts: Year 12 Unit 1: Fundamentals of IT (exam unit) Unit 2: Global Information (exam unit) Unit 8: Project Management (coursework) This unit will provide you with the opportunity to understand and use various project planning skills and techniques, thereby enabling you to become more effective in the workplace. Year 13 Unit 3: Cyber Security (exam unit) Unit 17: Internet of Everything (coursework) is about the use of the internet and how it is impacting people and society. You will learn about the Internet of Everything (IoE) and how it is used. Using your knowledge, you will carry out a feasibility study for a potential idea. You will pitch your idea to potential stakeholders and use their feedback to revise your proposal.
