Course summary

A level Music is a varied and interesting course that will develop both your theoretical and practical music skills. You will improve your understanding of music theory, as well as gaining the opportunity to use industry-standard software to create your own compositions. As part of your future development, you will have weekly one-to-one tuition on your chosen instrument. A level Music is a rigorous course intended for students interested in classical and popular music theory. As part of this subject, you will develop sheet music analysis skills, compositional practice, and an appreciation of a wider historical context of music. Instrumental tuition will afford you oneto- one support and encouragement, challenging you to practice pieces between grades 6-8.
