Course summary
All students study pure mathematics, statistics, and mechanics. Pure maths provides a thorough grounding in the mathematical tools and techniques often needed in the workplace, including topics such as logarithms, calculus, sequences and trigonometry. Mechanics deals with the action of forces on objects. In statistics, you will learn how to analyze data and calculate probabilities. IS THIS COURSE FOR ME? A level Mathematics is a challenging subject, certainly, a step up from GCSE, and many students find meeting this challenge to be deeply satisfying and rewarding. It supports and enhances the study of other mathematically-based courses. We are living in an increasingly technological society, and being mathematically literate to a high level can only be an advantage. Research has shown that A-level Mathematics has a positive impact on future career earnings.
