Course summary

Engineering has a hand in designing nearly everything you come into contact within your daily lives; homes, cars, computers, mobile phones and game consoles. This course will allow you to develop an understanding of engineering disciplines including how mechanical and electronic systems work, fabrication, machining and health & safety in the workplace. On this Level course, you will study: – Engineering Principles (examined) – Delivery of Engineering Processes Safely as a Team – Engineering Product Design & Manufacture (controlled assessment) – Fabrication Manufacturing processes On this course, you will study highly specialist units and topics which will help you develop the skills you need to start or progress to a career in Engineering such as: – Gaining the ability to use tools and machines to manufacture components to a high standard – Using professional software to design and test electronic circuits as well as the practical measurement skills – Learning how to design outcomes to have a reduced impact on the environment – Planning, organising and reviewing your work on an ongoing basis.
