Course summary
Sociology at A-level is an interesting and stimulating course, which gives students an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the subject; interpret various forms of material; analyse social issues and present explanations, ideas and arguments. It provides students with the opportunity to develop many skills which will be of use to them in Higher Education, or indeed, all types of employment. Sociology is an excellent subject to give breadth and balance to any combination of other A Level subjects. WHAT WILL I STUDY? Sociology is about social behavior, why people behave as they do, what factors in society affect their behavior, and how groups of people in society organize themselves and come to be as they are. It is an attempt to study in as scientific and systematic way as possible, how society operates.
