Assessments at the end of Year 13. Paper 1—Dynamic Landscapes and Physical Systems & Sustainability. Written exam paper, 30% of total A Level. Paper 2—Dynamic Places, Human Systems ad Geopolitics. Written exam paper, 30% of total A Level. Paper 3—Synoptic investigation of a contemporary geographical issue. Written paper, 20% of total A Level. N.E.A. (coursework), 20% of total A Level. There is an Edexcel requirement and expectation that all students will attend residential fieldwork investigations. Field skills will be taught by fieldwork specialists, and students will then utilise these skills in the production of their Individual Investigations. As fieldwork will be done away from the School site, there will be a cost which will be passed on to students’ families. Topics covered throughout the course include: - Tectonics - Coasts - Water Cycle & Water Security - Carbon Cycle & Energy Security - Regeneration - Globalisation - Superpowers - Development: Migration, Identity & Sovereignty
