Paper 1: Technical principles – 30% of A-level. 2.5 hour written paper. 120 marks. Mixture of short answer and extended response. Paper 2: Designing and making principles– 20% of A-level. 1.5 hour written paper. 80 marks. Mixture of short answer and extended response questions Section A (30 marks). Product Analysis -up to 6 short answer questions based on visual stimulus of products Section B (50 marks). Commercial Manufacture- short and extended response questions. Non-Exam Assessment – 50% of A-level. 45 hours. 100 marks. Substantial design and make task - evidenced by a design portfolio and final prototype.
