Course summary
You must be a high level practical performer who is competing and training with an external club in at least one sport and competent in a second sport. It is recommended that you have studied triple science at key stage 4. Video footage of students performing in a team setting or individually will be required and therefore must be playing sport regularly and consistently during the A level course. There is a very high level of theory as well as performance. The academic work will cover scientific components whilst performance will be individual and team based. This specification builds on the student's experience from Key Stage 4 and GCSE to enhance their knowledge and increase their understanding of the factors that affect performance and participation in physical education. The qualification looks to equip students with skills and knowledge required for higher education or the world of work.
