Would you like a career in a well-paid, rewarding, exciting, and ever-changing environment? Are you a problem solver? A team player? Do you have an appetite for new knowledge and a concern for the environment? Do you know your Tesla’s from your Musk’s? And finally, do you relish a challenge? If this has ‘sparked’ your interest then read on! The Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Electrical Installation is intended as a Technical Level qualification. The course is specifically designed for those who have completed the Level 2 Intermediate Diploma in Electrical and builds on the skills and knowledge attained. The qualification may also be suitable for other learners, including adults, who are interested in electrical installation and/or are considering a career change. Using up-to-date knowledge and skills, the electrical industry is fast-paced and challenging. The opportunities are boundless, as new technologies and innovations are driving economic growth in the 21st century. As a fully qualified electrician, you could find yourself almost anywhere in the world as the demand for energy-efficient power continues to rise. The course entails both theory and practical sessions and caters for all learning styles. Your tutors come from diverse electrical engineering backgrounds ensuring that a mixture of current practice and experience are used throughout the delivery of the topics being covered. Lively discussion, good-humored competition, and collaborative activities ensure a wholesome learning environment, where everyone is encouraged and can reach their full potential. A range of interactive, web-based resources is also available to support and complement the course content. These resources can also provide a measure of stretch and challenge in addition to providing individual feedback. There will be many ‘light bulb’ moments and much more besides and you will gain a real sense of achievement when that apprenticeship opportunity arrives. Learners will practice and be assessed in a safe, supportive environment, covering important topics such as 3 phase lighting and motor installation. Inspection, testing, and fault diagnosis are an essential part of the course. In addition, Environmental technologies, the current wiring regulations, and BS7671, all underpinned by further electrical science and principles make this a very demanding program of study. Current topics including the changing electrical generation landscape and new innovations in electric cars and battery storage are also covered. There will be opportunities for site visits to factories and facilities that are of particular interest to the electrical industry.
