Art and Design (Photography)
Course summary
Photography gives students the opportunity to both express themselves through the creative process and gain a greater understanding of the world around them. Photography helps students develop problem solving skills and encourages them to delve deeper into world issues whilst acquiring a firmer understanding of both analogue and digital processes. Students who choose Photography at A Level will be introduced to a range of digital and hand manipulation techniques. Students will learn about the science of Photography and the importance of the Photograph as a narrative device. Students will also learn about the relationships between photography and wider world issues and will earn how to contextualise their ideas by making links to professional photographers and current events.
