Course summary

Lessons are stimulating and challenging with the emphasis on language as a practical tool of communication. You will be taught through discussion, debates, analysis, presentations, multi-media, ICT, tutorials, purposeful reading and listening, independent research and more. You are also encouraged to organise work experience through personal contacts or Halsbury Travel. An A Level in German provides an opportunity to progress to language courses in higher education, as single or joint honours degrees. There are many exciting opportunities to live/ work abroad if you can communicate fluently in another language. Good linguists are generally deemed to be more confident and independent, and universities are keener than ever to offer places to students who have an A Level in any Modern Foreign Language.
