This paper assesses language diversity and change and language discourses. It also assesses writing skills. This is assessed through a written exam: 2 hours 30 minutes and accounts for 40% of A Level. Non-exam assessment: Language in action. This involves a detailed language investigation and original writing. This has a word count of 3,500 and accounts for 20% of A Level.
