Course summary
The aim of the A-level Spanish course is to enable students in the Sixth Form to continue, as their contemporaries in other EU countries do, with the study of a modern European language in a practical context. The ability to communicate in more than one language is becoming increasingly apparent in many aspects of contemporary business and scientific life. You will study technological and social change, looking at the multicultural nature of Hispanic society. You will study highlights of Hispanic artistic culture, including a focus on Spanish regional identity and the cultural heritage of past civilisations. Through this course, you will learn about aspects of the diverse political landscape of the Hispanic world. You will explore the influence of the past on present-day Hispanic communities.
