Course summary
This is a dynamic, performance based course focusing on the key disciplines of singing, dancing and acting. It is tailored to meet the demands of the industry and will support you in developing a broad range of performance skills and technical abilities. The course structure is defined through a variety of unit options and assessment styles, enabling you to develop both practical and theoretical skills. The course will entail annual company productions and numerous performance opportunities both in school and at local/national theatres. Students will also attend residencies in London, experiencing professional workshops and attending live theatre. The units covered include the four units from the Extended Certificate course plus: Unit Four: Performing Arts in the Community Unit Five: Individual Performance Commission Unit Six: Final Live Performance to an Audience Unit Ten: Jazz Dance Technique* Unit Twenty Seven: Musical Theatre Techniques* *These options are subject to change, depending on student specialism
