Course summary

The BTEC National Extended Certificate in Sport is a practical, work related course. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands, as well as written examinations and tasks. The course is equivalent to one A level. The course is multi-disciplinary, encouraging the development of a range of skills and emphasising independent learning. It combines theory with practical work, and is taught and assessed through activities closely related to the sports industry. As well as formal teaching and practical activities, the course will include role-play, group work, discussions and debates, research, visiting speakers and visits to external organisations. The units are detailed below: Unit One: Anatomy and Physiology Unit Two: Fitness Training and Programming for Health Sport and Wellbeing Unit Three: Professional Development in the Sports Industry Unit Seven: Practical Sports Performance
