Course summary
As a peer mentor you will be ‘buddied up’ with a lower school student and build a relationship with them that enables them to feel better about school. You will meet regularly with your mentee and help the students to cope with the aspects of their school lives by developing strategies to help meet their individual needs. You will receive training, support and dedicated study periods to be able to become an effective mentor. This course is for any student who possesses the qualities and dedication to become an effective peer mentor and would be a good experience for a student looking to go into a range of careers in care, education, law, psychology, or any career where you will be developing interpersonal relationships.
