Course summary

The aim of the course is to develop a critical understanding of organisations, the markets they serve and the process of adding value, through a problem-solving approach to business studies. This will be done by encouraging students to develop: a knowledge and critical understanding of the way businesses are organised internally and of the local, national and international environments within which business operates; skills of research, selection and use of data, decision-making and presentation. This course is an excellent base for students to go on to study the many different business degrees offered at university or to secure, for example, a financial apprenticeship.
