Course summary
BTECs are vocationally-related qualifications, where learners develop knowledge and understanding by applying their learning and skills in a work-related context. This course is designed to equip students with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required for successful employment in the sport and recreation industries. It also prepares them for a higher national or undergraduate degree programme in Physical Education, Sports Science, Sports Development or Sports Coaching. The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport covers 18 units over two years: In the first year of this course (Foundation Diploma), students will study a range of topics including; Anatomy and Physiology, Fitness Training and Programming, Sports Leadership and Fitness Testing.
