Course summary

A fantastic new opportunity for students at Falmouth Sixth Form to study and learn about the fast paced nature and workings of the political system both in Britain and other countries such as the USA. Politics is a superb choice for students who are keen to learn about the country that we live in and are interested in developing their own knowledge of political systems and ideologies. Politics isn’t just about teaching students about the political parties in Britain, instead, students are encouraged to learn about wide-reaching movements such as liberalism, socialism and nationalism that affect everybody today. Through the Politics A-Level students will be able to engage with topics such as the structure of government and the ways in which it works, as well as dealing with current affairs such as BREXIT and other global issues that have and are shaping the world we live in. Politics will help students not only gain a superb understanding of the society that we live in, but will also develop key fundamental skills that will equip them for the future such as; written and verbal communication skills, essay writing and debating.
