Course summary
Photography students are encouraged to develop an expressive and personal response to the visual world. Students will also learn about what makes an exciting image by exploring imaging techniques such as composition, framing, depth of field, lighting, viewpoint, perspective and design elements. They will experiment with media, processes and techniques abstracting, designing, illustrating and creating. They will also develop Photoshop skills, by editing and manipulating their photographs to create new images and illusions. Our students can use traditional and/or new media to produce outcomes such as experimental imagery, photo-montage, photographic or digital installation, animation, video and film. The focus is on including work that shows creative exploration, research, acquisition of techniques and skills. Candidates produce a coursework portfolio of work developed from personal briefs.
