Drama at AS and A level at Upton Court Grammar School provides students with an interesting, challenging and above all, fun experience that helps to broaden students’ knowledge of both practical dramatic techniques and the theoretical knowledge that comes along with it. As well as having the opportunity to create your own devised performances you will also have the chance to learn about several different plays and practitioners, helping you to make sense of how actors train and look at new ways of performing. At Upton Court we hope to provide a curriculum to ignite and engage students’ creativity, passion and interests, including opportunities to devise your own drama performances, attend the theatre and have every chance to grow and stretch yourself creatively. As well as this, we hope to help create independent students, critical thinkers and effective decision-makers – all personal attributes that can help you to stand out as you progress through your education and into employment.
