Holy Trinity CofE Secondary School, Crawley

Course summary
This course is a Level 3, one-year course (the qualification is equivalent to an AS Level in terms of UCAS points). In this course you can expect to build upon, and strengthen, existing skills, focusing on using and applying mathematics to solve problems relevant to everyday life, as well as manging projects. The course builds on GCSE maths, with a sharper focus on problem solving skills by considering and tackling mathematics in meaningful contexts. This includes financial applications of mathematics (understanding national insurance, tax and interest), as well as further statistical ideas (looking at trends) that can support work in other subjects such as Psychology, Biology, BTEC Science courses, Geography, Sociology, Business Studies, Economics and even History. This subject is only available as a 4th option in year 12 or year 13. For questions or queries contact Miss S King: SKING@holytrinitycrawley.org.uk
