Course summary
Studying the English Language and Literature A-Level course you will deepen your understanding of the ways in which English Language is used and to develop skills of literary analysis through creative engagement with a range of texts. You will study a wide range of interesting and engaging fiction and non-fiction texts to explore and make connections using the analytical concepts and literary and linguistic methods you learn during the course. The course will encourage you to undertake independent investigate projects and use a stimulating range of texts including: classics, contemporary fiction, transcripts and multi-modal texts. A-Level English Language and Literature provides a good foundation for a variety of career and Degree subjects including Law, Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Human Resources and Journalism. This course combines well with any of the Arts and Humanities subjects as well as being an excellent match with Media Studies.
