Course summary

Studying our A-Level in English Literature you will have the opportunity to engage creatively with a stimulating body of exciting texts. You will develop your knowledge of literary analysis and evaluation in speech and writing. You will explore the contexts of texts and interpretations of them in their historical setting and deepen your understanding of the changing traditions of literature in English. The A-Level English Literature qualifications have been carefully designed to enrich your learning, providing you with the expertise to actively explore the world around you using strategies that will also prepare you for the research and study skills required in higher education and the workplace. This course provides a strong foundation for students wishing to pursue a career in Law, Journalism, Advertising, Publishing, Marketing, Public relations, Medicine and Education. This course combines well with any of the Arts and Humanities subjects and makes an excellent partner to Media Studies.
