Assessment

Examination: 100% and a practical endorsement. There are three examined components that cover all elements of the 2 year A-level course. In addition to those covered in the first year, topics in the second year of the course include creating models, cosmology, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, electric fields, particle physics, and ionising radiations. The practical endorsement consists of a series of experimental activities designed to help students develop all aspects of their practical skills, data analysis, investigative planning and conclusion/evaluation of the entire experimental process. This is reported separately to the subject grade and is either a pass or fail.
