Extended Project Qualification
Course summary
Students are supported to: • choose an area of interest • draft a title and aims of the project for formal approval by the centre • plan, research and carry out the project • deliver a presentation to a non specialist audience • provide evidence of all stages of project development and production for assessment. • Students can take two pathways through the EPQ. Students can either: o Complete an academic essay of up to 5,000 words o Create a project, informed by their research, supported by an essay of approximately 1,500 words explaining their process. Examples of past products include a monologue about a certain person’s life, a children’s book, an article in the style of the New Scientist, a school newspaper, a short film… as long as the product Is informed by research, the possibilities are endless!
