Extended Certificate (Cambridge Technical) in Sport and Physical Activity

Course summary

This course will develop knowledge and understanding of the skills and principles of Sport and Physical Activity. Students will have the opportunity to develop their coaching and leadership skills in a variety of settings, as well as their practical skills in team, individual and outdoor and adventurous sports. The course is made up of five units, two examinations and three coursework based units, where assessment takes place both practically and theoretically in a variety of sport related tasks. In the exam units students will cover the body systems and sports organisation and development. They will explore a variety of sports throughout the year and there will be numerous opportunities to deliver clubs, events and tournaments to younger students and within Wandsworth borough. The Cambridge Technical is equivalent to one A Level and is highly valued by universities, higher education colleges and employers alike. Students will require prior knowledge and physical skills in team and individual sports.
